Android Simulator Mac M1
The Android Studio version will follow shortly after that. Having said that, I use my M1 for professional development and android studio runs just fine under rosetta. It's at least as fast as my 2018 intel laptop, even under rosetta. Granted I'm using the Mac Mini so the M1 chip never throttles down.
Mac Mini M1 16gb
- Sep 24, 2021 Apple M1 chip comes in the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro 13″, and Mac Mini. The gaming experience can differ in these Macs as they pack different hardware other than the Apple M1 chip. But all three Macs will be able to run all the games that are given in the list. Games that are Compatible with M1 Macs.
- Android Studio, Android Emulator, Visual Studio code are not ready for a stable build for M1, but it's being worked on. Things should get better in a few months at most. Until then there's always Rosetta. Installing the Emulator. Selecting an arm64 version of Android R did not work. So I had to use the emulator preview release.
- As shown by developers, the emulator on M1 can render 8.94 frames with one watt of power, while the Intel MacBook Pro renders 1.38 frames per watt. There’s no denying it; macOS M1 hardware kicks.
